About Us
Our Captain, Barry Fontaine, is a 3rd generation Edistonian, born and raised on the island and has spent his life either on the ocean or as a steward of the creeks. He can answer a plethora of questions, ranging from the history of Edisto to the wildlife that inhabits the marsh and island.
Family Tides is a repurposed 44ft Gibson houseboat Captain Barry repowered with outboards in the summer of 2025 to be better suited for a saltwater environment. She has a diesel generator, full bathroom, air conditioning, and multiple shaded levels for an unparalleled view.
